FAQ

  • Which exam board are you teaching?
We will specifically focus on AQA for GCSE Science and Edexcel for GCSE Maths. This will be done in terms of syllabus, content and question style. Much of the content and knowledge is the same across boards, of course this knowledge and theory will benefit all attendees.
  • Will this benefit my child in year 10?
The theory and exam question practice will most definitely help year 10 students as this will give them a head start with knowledge. This will help year students by: - Helping them with the learning more of the theory and questions for their end of year mocks - Giving the more confidence in class - Helping them improve their marks
  • What is the lesson format?
The lesson will generally include: questions, theory, practice, exam questions and model answers.
  • I am busy on class night, how can I catch up? Do you have any other lesson times?
No problem. You can catch up on the lesson recordings in your private members area. These are normally uploaded within 24 hours of the lesson. These recordings will become an invaluable resource for revision as you can access these for the whole year.
  • We already have a 1 to 1 tutor, can this help us?
Well done. That is amazing and will definitely help. Other parents have been in a similar situation but spoke with their children about the extra support and the cost of our sessions. They then checked their end of year grades and started the subjects where they needed most support and used these sessions as an opportunity to get in extra revision and practise. This all helps with developing knowledge, boosting your grades and building up confidence. Why not get started and try two lessons risk free?
  • Will I be able to effectively learn through a computer?
Yes. The entire world has shifted post Covid and many teachers and students are learning online. Students from all over the world have experienced the benefits of learning online. Parents prefer this as they also save lots of time and expense. Students have made major breakthroughs through online and youtube. In short, yes it definitely works!
  • How can I help my child even further?
In our first year, we have had students get top grades. In each of these scenarios the parents ensured that students watch the lesson video again (you can speed this up to save some time!), repeat the in-lesson questions, answer the homework questions and compare against the answer sheets. This process will reinforce this knowledge.
  • Is the weekly lesson live?
Yes. Our experience has taught us that the best way for students to learn is to attend a weekly live class. This gives them a regular learning activity which is vital when building up for exams.
  • Will there be homework?
Our teachers give home questions and answers to these questions. Students should complete this before the next lesson to ensure that they have mastered the lesson. We also recommend online resources that can be used for homework and extra practice. But at this scale and low price, we are unable to mark this for the students. Students and parents will need to come together to manage this.
  • Do you only teach maths and science?
From our experience, these are the subjects where students need most support. We focus on these subjects as all schools run the same syllabus. It is much harder to teach English as schools select different texts. However, we have done exam cram sessions for English closer to the exam to really reinforce exam fundamentals.
  • Can I get a discount if I book all of the subjects?
We are a small community based organisation, the vast majority of the income is used to pay the teachers and then cover platform costs. We are not able to offer any further discounts. Sorry.
